PROFESORADO

Jesús Aparicio (Madrid, 1960) is a Spanish architect. His work and thinking are focus in merging the thinking-teaching-building understanding these three abilities as a whole. He graduated with honors in both Design and Urbanism specializations at the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM) in 1984.

He was awarded with the Rome Prize in 1987 and subsequently with a Fulbright/Ministry of Education grant. He researched several years at Columbia University, where he got a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Building Design. Jesús Aparicio is a PhD architect and since 2009 full professor of Architectural Design at the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). During the academic years 2001/02 and 2011/12 he has been Visiting Scholar at the Graduated School of Architecture of Columbia University (GSAPP).

He has been guest lecturer and speaker in several international universities and institutions as the Politecnico de Milano, the Architectural Association of London, the Darmstadt Institute of Technology, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville and Paris-Val de Seine, Università di Roma “La Sapienza”, Harvard University, Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT), Columbia University, Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, KTH Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden, the Institute of Architects of Bangladesh (IAB) or Keio University in Japan, among others.
